I've decided to finally kick my bad diet habits. All of them. All at once.
Two weeks ago I decided to go vegan. While I was at it I decided to kick a few other nasty, illness causing foods. So I stopped eating all meat, dairy, sugar, processed foods, gluten, salt alcohol and caffeine. Not an easy task to say the least. I'm at the end of the first two weeks and I must say, I feel pretty great! The physical benefits this diet is having on me (so far) are well worth passing up the chocolate, cookies and cheese. In fact, I'm completely turned OFF of the foods I once loved. After reading a book called the
Beauty Detox Solution, I understand our foods are full of toxic sugar, chemical sweeteners, salt, pesticides, hormones and anti-biotics. I won't go into details but knowing what is REALLY in our foods has affected my eating choices in the last two weeks for the better. Research it for yourself, you'll likely make some changes to your diet as well.
My outlook on food and how it affects our health is very different. I see now that it's all so connected. Basically, healthy inside = healthy outside. I'll continue to put the best quality foods into my body and report on the progress.
